SMC - May 1

OK girls...it is that time again! I have to confess...I have struggled greatly picking out my verse this month. I had narrowed it down to four but could not decide and then when I went to Beth Moore's blog to draw straws for which one to post...she had this one and I felt this was a good choice! So I still have my four on stand by for future use...lol

Ps 27:14 ” Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord”. (NIV)

Beth used a different version in which "wait" was translated "rely". I liked it too, but when I saw the NIV translation...it just stuck with me. Because I struggle with the whole "wait" concept. Sometimes I forget to wait on the Lord for instruction and things go incredibly WRONG! And then sometimes I wait for the Lord but don't do anything while I am waiting and things go incredibly WRONG. I need the balance...wait for the Lord but continue to seek Him and pray for direction while I "wait"! In most places the word "wait" is used in the Bible it is an action verb...meaning doing something while you "wait"! So y'all pray I can "actively wait" on the Lord and bring Him glory.

Let's hear your verses! Bless someone this week!

In Him,
Kristy =)

PS - I also want to fess up that I am still working on last time's verse. It was a little harder for me...so I don't have it perfect yet. Let that encourage you...keep trying and don't give up. You will never ever waste a minute on memorizing God's Word. Just the shear discipline of trying to memorize it allows you to meditate on it...which absolutely does a heart good! Amen? Love you ladies!

  1. I am going to start posting my verse as well. This verse is something I find myself having to work on more and more.
    Psalms 141:3 "Set a guard over my mouth Lord, Keep watch over the door of my lips"
    Thanks Kristy :)

  2. I struggled between two of my recent BSF readings of Isaiah so I will do one this time and the other the next. This one comes from Isaiah 66:1
    "This is what the Lord says: "Heaven is my Throne and the earth my footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that? Could you build me such a resting place?""- NLT

    This one really spoke to me over the past couple of weeks because I think too many time I try to fit God in a box, but he is so much bigger than anything that I can imagine. He holds all the oceans in one hand and he uses the earth and its hugeness as a foot stool. Can you imagine? Umm that was good to me!

  3. I find myself in Proverbs lately, using it to impart wisdom to my son (bless his goofy self) ~ but I have found that I need it as well.

    Proverbs3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.
