Scripture Memory Challenge - May 1st

I am cheating...I realize today is the 30th instead of the 1st, but tomorrow is the Ham and Yam and dance and company for supper...so I am not sure when I would be able to post! And I already have my verse picked out well in advance. It was sealed when Beth Moore and Billie BOTH preached from it within 24 hours and then Billie said something to the extent of "everyone should memorize this verse". So it will not be a surprise for most =)

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Eph 4:32, NIV

Kindness...Compassion...Forgiveness - so easy to say yet so hard to live out!

One of my favorite all time quotes is "Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle." How many times have I snapped at someone only to regret it after hearing what they have going on in their life!! Pray for each other...we don't always know when folks are fighting battles that we would not wish on our worst enemies!

Let's hear your verses! =)

  1. O.k. Kristy,

    Mine may take me the whole month but here goes. Psalm 121 has been a help to me during some very trying times. I have turned to this scripture for comfort, strength, security and protection. God is my Rock and this Scripture has assured me of it time and time again. So as many times as I have read it ....I believe it may come easier that I think. If I learned it I can speak it to myself and not have to look it up for reference. So here goes.....

    Psalm 121
    Ps 121:1 I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from?
    Ps 121:2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
    Ps 121:3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber;
    Ps 121:4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
    Ps 121:5 The LORD watches over you—the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
    Ps 121:6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
    Ps 121:7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life;
    Ps 121:8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

    Loving HIS WORD!!! and thanks for keeping this challenge alive!

  3. I actually didn't have a post Kristy, I'm late! But my verse is Ecclesiastes 7:14 (NIV)-
    "When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other."
