Scripture Memory Challenge - May 15th

Hi Ladies,
I can't believe it is already the 15th of May (well tomorrow anyway)! Where does time go? Baseball season is in full swing and dance has ended for the year! The garden is growing and bringing me much joy. And overall things are slowing for a laid back summer break! My kids are ready (and I am too)! But today we have business to attend!

"But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness." Psalm 86:15 NIV

This verse gives me a goal...it speaks to me telling me that I need to be more compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and full of love! Hopefully committing it to memory will help me keep these characteristics in the forefront of my mind and allow me to behave this way more often! I know my house will be more peaceful if I am more loving and slower to anger!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Kristy =)

  1. My verse is a verse from this weekend that was seen on a World Vision video. As some of you know I have recently started sponsoring a child named Yessin in Ethiopia and this verse spoke to me and was a reminder that my kind words need to be backed up by my actions.

    1 John 3:18
    Dear Children, let us not love with words or tounge, but with actions and in truth.

  2. Hey Kristy,
    Thanks for keeping this going. I am sticking with the 121 Psalm for the rest of the month. I have been going back to make sure that I have all my other scriptures truly committed to memory before I move on. I really love being able to speak scripture to myself and it is really interesting now to see which ones I find most useful. I love HIS WORD and apart from HIM...I have no good thing. (I speak that one the most). Praying that I know HIS voice when he calls and that I listen when he speaks. Thanks again for this ministry. Tammy

  3. New to blogging...so here it goes...God has been so patient, compassionate, loving and wonderful to me. Though many times I didn't know it or accept it because I was allowing myself to be blind by the evils of satan. So many times I have turned my back on God...BUT He never left me...or even got mad with me....though I am sure He wept many tears. God has put up with so much from me through the years...but yet He is still here by my side. He is amazing....I would have left and given up on me along time ago if I were Him...BUT I am not...there is no other like our Heavenly Father. I am so thankful that He puts up with me and accepts me back into His loving arms each time I come crawling back. Trust me I have come crawling back on more that one occassion. I am one that thinks I have to fix the whole world....when all God wants me to do is step aside and watch Him go to work. However, I am hard-headed and a people pleaser so I can't be happy until I stick my fingers in it...of course that's when it all becomes a mess...I waddle in pity for a few days and then I realize I have to give it to Him...sure enough He takes it and makes something wonderful out of my hugh mess. I have a note posted on my bathroom mirror, where I can read it each morning...it reads...."God did not leave you when you didn't know Him...and He WILL NOT leave you now that you do know Him." I love that saying...How Awesome Is Our God? If God, can not be angered by all my sins and mistakes through the day...who I am to anger so easily at any other. If we are going to be Christ-Like that entitles us to serve us with love, compassion and not easy to anger. I challenge each of you to choose one person that you commit to being kind to for 3 days...and see what God does with that. I promise you will be amazed.

  4. And I'm late... once again :) I'm going with Colossians 3:12, NIV:
    "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience."
